Fiscal Responsibility
With 10 years of village board experience and as a math teacher, I know how important it is for the village to have a strong financial foundation. During my time on the board, I have passed only balanced budgets, and worked diligently to maintain the village's debt free status and fully funded police pensions. I have been a strong advocate for the tax payer by taking less than allowed by the tax cap, and I was critical to developing a property tax relief strategy of using 50% of new property for tax reduction.
Investments in Our Community
In my time of service, I am proud to have been able to advocate for many improvements to our village. While this list is by no means comprehensive the following items are just a few that I am proud to have accomplished for the community; Gelatin Park, Village Center Commons with fountain, additional downtown parking, double the holiday lights, road resurfacing and curb and gutter improvements throughout town, completion of our water system with a back-up well and back up generators, storm water management improvements, alley improvements in the downtown, streetscape improvements, improved community gathering spaces like bench islands with flowers, and the promotion of our village center through the Grayslake Village Center site and a staff addition of a Village Center Coordinator.
Investments in Our Environment
Through my time on the village board, we have been a leader for the environment. We have added 40 acres of open space to the village, and worked with developers to secure even more! We have added composting options to our waste removal program, made a huge investment in our tree canopy, planted natives species to improve our ecosystem, cleaned up toxins in unused sites, recognized sustainable businesses, partnered with openlands, created an EV charging partnership, signed the monarch pledge, and added bird city and sol smart designations for the town. The village though small has proudly added a sustainability coordinator, and on top of all of that we have been able to provide electronics recycling for the entire county, being recognized by SWALCO for our work. Work in this area is never done and I will persist on this path!

My heart is for the community of Grayslake and adding to the vitality of our community. I am happy to proudly promote and support all of our wonderful businesses, events, and citizen accomplishments. One of our greatest assets is the people of our town and if elected Mayor I will work hard to honor you!

Serving The Community
Elizabeth has served the community in many capacities. She serves as the Alternate Representative for the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency and the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County. She is treasurer of the Grayslake Heritage Center Foundation and Exchange Club Member. She has been a PTO member, volunteer coach, church volunteer, and part of environmental care initiatives.

Grayslake is a fantastic town and we all want that progress to continue. By managing our finances and staying debt-free, we can continue to make investments in our future. We can provide stability in a changing world and we can be the best town in Lake County!
